The Brown/Lifespan Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital is a two-year, post-residency training program that prepares residents to be certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI), a conjoint board under the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). We recruit one fellow each year from trainees who have completed residencies in internal medicine, pediatrics, or medicine/pediatrics. The fellowship is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Allergy & Immunology fellows will acquire expert-level clinical competence in the care of children and adults with routine and complex allergic and immunologic disorders. Training will foster excellence in patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning, system evidence-based practice, professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills. Our program seeks to foster lifelong scholarship through graduate-level coursework, allergy and immunology didactics and the presentation of clinical and research topics.
