Rhode Island Hospital, the largest academic medical center in the region, is the principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. As an acute care teaching hospital, Rhode Island Hospital is the principal provider of specialty care in the region and the only Level I Trauma Center in southeastern New England.

The state’s premier advanced pediatric specialty care and outpatient center, Hasbro Children’s Hospital is the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital. Hasbro Children’s Hospital offers a spectrum of pediatric services and programs.

The Warren Alpert Medical School is affiliated with seven area hospitals — all within a 15-minute drive of the Brown campus — that serve one and a half million people of diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic status. The school offers 85 clinical fellowships including 10 in pediatrics and 21 in internal medicine.
